JASHTONFIT for Coaches

Coach Terms

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These Coach Terms ("Terms") apply to you if you use the JASHTONFIT platform to run your own coaching business — managing clients, programs, messaging and payments. The platform is operated by Josh Ashton, trading as JASHTONFIT, based in Auckland, New Zealand ("we", "us"). They sit alongside our Terms of Service (which apply to everyone using the app) and our Privacy Policy. By creating a coach account or using the platform as a coach, you agree to these Terms. If you are signing up for a business, you confirm you can bind it.

1. What you get

A coaching app under your own name and branding: client management, program building, workout and nutrition tracking, check-ins and forms, messaging, scheduling, optional sale of your programs, and the ability for clients to pay you by card through the app. You decide who your clients are, what you charge them and what you teach them.

2. Your account and team

You must be 18 or over and give accurate details. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by assistant coaches you invite — they can read and reply to your clients' messages and see check-ins, and you can remove them at any time. Keep your password secure and tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.

3. Plans and billing

Plans. There is a free Solo plan (limited to a small number of active clients) and paid plans (Starter and Growth), billed monthly or yearly. The current prices, client limits and features are shown in the app and on our coach sign-up page. We may change prices or plans; for existing paid subscribers we will give at least 30 days' notice before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.

Free trial. Paid plans start with a free trial. A card is required to start it. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged and the subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page ("Manage subscription"). If you have no more than the Solo plan's client limit when your paid subscription ends, your account moves to the free Solo plan and keeps working. If you have more active clients than Solo allows, your coach access is paused until you choose a plan — we do not delete your data or pause any client's account. Cancelling stops future charges; we do not refund the part of a billing period that has already been paid for, except where the law requires it.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may pause your coach access until it is fixed. Your clients' data is not deleted.

4. Payments from your clients

If you connect a Stripe account, your clients can pay you by card through the app and the money goes to your Stripe account. We take a platform fee from those in-app card payments. The fee depends on your plan; the current rates are shown in the app and on our coach sign-up page. The fee is taken automatically before the money reaches you. It does not apply to clients you invoice or are paid by outside the app.

You are the seller to your clients. That means you are responsible for your own prices, what you promise clients, refunds and chargebacks, tax (including GST where it applies), invoices and receipts, and following consumer law. Stripe's own fees and its terms (including identity checks on your account) apply as well. Where you refund a client, whether the platform fee is returned depends on how the refund is processed in Stripe; we do not guarantee it.

5. Your clients and their information

Your clients' information (including health and fitness information) belongs to you and your client relationship. You are responsible for having the right to collect and use it, for telling your clients how you use it, and for using it only to coach them. We store and process it on your behalf to provide the platform. We keep each coach's clients separate from every other coach's.

You must not use client information for unrelated marketing, sell it, or share it except as the law allows or the client agrees. If a client asks you for a copy or deletion of their information, you are responsible for responding — and we will help by providing the tools or carrying out the request where we can.

If you stop using the platform, you can export what you need first, and we will delete or de-identify your clients' information within a reasonable time after you ask, unless we are required to keep it.

6. Your content and branding

You keep ownership of the programs, text, images, videos, logos and other material you upload ("your content"). You give us permission to store, display and deliver it to your clients as part of the platform. You promise you have the rights to everything you upload and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law. We may remove content that does.

The platform shows a small "powered by JASHTONFIT" credit. Beyond that, your name, colours, logo and web address are yours.

7. Your professional responsibility

The platform is a tool, not medical or professional advice. You are responsible for being suitably qualified and (where appropriate) insured, for screening clients, for the programs and advice you give, and for any health or injury risk that comes from them. Do not use the platform to diagnose or treat medical conditions. We are not responsible for the way you coach.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the platform for anything unlawful, misleading or abusive; do not send spam or messages clients have not asked for; do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer it, or access another coach's data; and do not share your login. Respect your clients — messaging is a direct line to them.

9. The platform and changes

We work hard to keep the platform available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change or be retired. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose, such as invoices and program copies.

10. Our intellectual property

We own the platform, its software, design and the JASHTONFIT name and marks. These Terms give you the right to use the platform while your account is active; they do not give you ownership of any of it. Any feedback you send us may be used to improve the platform.

11. Liability

We provide the platform "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of clients or data, or any injury to a client, and our total liability to you for anything connected to the platform is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You are using the platform for business purposes. To the extent permitted by law, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and sections 9, 12A and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply to these Terms.

12. Suspension and ending

You may stop at any time by cancelling and closing your account. We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if your payments fail and are not resolved, or if we are required to by law — and we will tell you why where we can. When an account ends, sections that by their nature should continue (such as payment owed, liability and governing law) continue.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give existing coaches at least 30 days' notice (by email or in the app) before they apply. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the updated Terms.
